The Victorian Government has consolidated and streamlined grants programs in the Multicultural Affairs portfolio to better meet the needs of the community.

Recent Grants Programs

Community Harmony Program 2016-17

Consolidates the grants programs formerly known as Promoting Community Harmonyand Multifaith and Interfaith Initiatives.

Applications for small grants have now closed.  The assessment process is currently being finalised. The results are anticipated to be announced soon.


Capacity Building and Participation Program 2016-17

Consolidates the grants programs formerly known as Strengthening Multicultural Communities, Organisational Support Grants, Multicultural Seniors Organisational Support Grants, Community Language Schools Program Grants, Refugee Action Program and Asylum Seeker Support Program.

Applications for small and medium grants have now closed. The assessment process is currently being finalised. The results are anticipated to be announced soon.


Community Infrastructure and Cultural Precincts Program

Consolidates the grants programs formerly known as Building and Facilities Improvement Grants and Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund.

Expressions of Interest have now closed and are currently being reviewed.

Expressions of Interest that progress to a second stage application will be contacted by the end of July. The application time frame is expected to be approximately three weeks. Organisations that are not progressing will also be notified.


Multicultural Festivals and Events 2016-17

Incorporates the former Unity Through Partnerships program.

Applications for small, school and large grants have now closed.  The assessment process is currently being finalised.  The results are anticipated to be announced soon.



LGBTI Communities 
Funding has also been made available for LGBTI communities and organisations through the Community Harmony Program 2016-17 and the Capacity Building and Participation Program 2016-17.  These programs will  support LGBTI communities and organisations to be more inclusive of people from culturally diverse backgrounds.  For more information see the program flyer.
