Multicultural Festivals and Events Grants

The Victorian Government aims to promote the social, cultural and economic benefits of cultural diversity to all Victorians. The Multicultural Festival and Events Grants are designed to encourage the participation of the whole community in celebrating and valuing cultural diversity. The grants help to promote awareness of cultural diversity, community contributions, mutual respect, understanding and community unity. The second round of Multicultural Festival and Events grants for 2011-12 closed on September 16, 2011. Applications are now being assessed by the Community Strengthening Team at OMAC. Groups will be notified of the outcome of their application in December. The next round of Multicultural Festival and Events Grants will open in March 2012. Guidelines for the Multicultural Festivals and Events Grants 2011-12 Round Two can be accessed here. Who is eligible:
Community organisations, non-profit or ganisations and schools can apply for funding. Organisations must be incorporated under the Australian Corporations Act or as an Association under the Associations Incorporation Act and have an Australian Business Number (ABN). If you wish to apply for funding and are not a formal organisation, you are able to apply in partnership with another organisation who will act as an auspice for your project. Assessment ProcessThe recommendations of OMAC are presented to the Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship for approval.
