Census jobs coming up

CENSUS night 2016 is coming soon and the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to recruit up to 38,000 Field Officers.

The Census is a snapshot of the key characteristics of the Australian population taken over the course of one night – this year it is taking place on Tuesday 9 August. Everyone in Australia is legally required to complete a Census form.

To help gather this huge amount of statistical information, the ABS  is recruiting Field Officers whose main responsibility will be to make contact with households when delivering the Census form and to encourage online participation. Field Officers will also make further visits to households that have not participated online or returned a paper form.

Job seekers from diverse  backgrounds, including non-English speaking backgrounds and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, are encouraged to apply for this challenging and rewarding role.

All information about Field Officer roles can be found at the ABS website.
