Multilingual type 2 diabetes awareness sessions available

Diabetes Victoria are offering free type 2 diabetes awareness sessions and support groups in languages other than English. The sessions are run by trained bilingual health facilitators for groups residing in Melbourne and can be presented in a range of chosen languages, including:

  • Arabic
  • Cantonese
  • Mandarin
  • Greek
  • Italian
  • Macedonian
  • Spanish
  • Turkish
  • Vietnamese

Sessions run for 75 minutes and require a minimum of 10 people, information is suitable for groups of men and/or women and addresses the definition of diabetes, its symptoms and effects, risk factors and how to reduce the risk of developing diabetes, as well as the National Diabetes Services Scheme.
