Australia's first national sports forum on inclusion and diversity

A new sporting industry event aims to share ideas, strategies and best practice across the sport sector, and explore future approaches and solutions to help sport get inclusion and diversity right.

The 2016 Diversity and Inclusion in Sport Forum will bring together practitioners, academics, administrators and policy makers to collectively share ideas, strategies, best practice and explore future approaches and solutions to help sport meet the many challenges and opportunities around inclusion and diversity.

The event will include 18 invited speakers sharing insightful presentations, the latest and best video and social media campaigns, and speaker/audience discussions.

A range of topics will include: gender equity, reconciliation action plans, homophobia, casual racism, disability and universal design, refugees and migrants, junior sport, violence against women, social inclusion frameworks, social network analysis, Indigenous player welfare, transgender, inclusion strategy and program design.

The forum is organised by multiple partners including Oliver & Thompson Consultancy, Play by the Rules, Victoria University, Monash University, the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Centre for Multicultural Youth.

Tickets for the event are priced at $100, to be held at the Jasper Hotel, Melbourne, Victoria on Friday 7 October 2016. Book your place on the event website.
