With a catchment of around 1.68 million people, the North and West Metropolitan Region is the most heavily populated of the Government’s eight service delivery regions. Its community comprises 31% of Victoria’s population, is culturally diverse and includes 24% of Victoria’s Aboriginal people.

Melbourne CBD, inner, middle and outer urban areas - including four high-growth areas - lie within its boundaries. So do 11 of Melbourne’s 14 most disadvantaged municipalities.
