Celebrate the start of summer with the spectacular African Music and Cultural Festival (AMCF), returning for its fourth year. Victorians and visitors are invited to take a journey to Africa at this free, inclusive grass roots event. Now in its fourth year, AMCF is the largest festival of its kind in Australia, delivering non-stop entertainment for the whole family, from dance, fashion, DJs, spoken word and drumming - along with a mouthwatering array of cuisines from across the continent. Last year’s event attracted over 36,000 visitors, with 40,000 expected to attend this year. In 2017 the festival has extended its hours by popular demand, to capitalise on Melbourne’s vibrant night scene. AMCF promotes cross-cultural awareness, mutual respect, understanding and unity, while providing locals and visitors with a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural offerings of the African continent.
