Scanlon Foundation’s 2016 Community Grants now open

THE Scanlon Foundation annual community grants round for 2016 opened are now open.

The program will focus on 18 local government areas across Australia, with the purpose of funding projects that support the transition of migrants into the local community.
Grants of up to $25,000 are available.

Projects should consider the experience of migrants and of receiving communities and aim to nurture positive outcomes. The Scanlon Foundation is seeking applications for projects that empower communities and develop intercultural connections.

Projects in Victoria must be located in one of the following local areas:

·    Brimbank, Victoria
·    Greater Dandeong, Victoria
·    Hobsons Bay, Victoria
·    Hume, Victoria
·    Moreland, Victoria
·    Whittlesea, Victoria

Key selection criteria includes:

·    Employment pathways
·    Local business engagement
·    Literacy
·    Applied English practice
·    Intercultural or culturally diverse programs
·    Innovation

Applications close at 5.00pm, Monday 12 September 2016.
