Applications to volunteer with CMY’s Settle Smart program now open

The CMY are looking for multicultural young people aged between 18-25 who have had settlement experience to empower other young people from newly-arrived, culturally diverse communities. Applications are now open for volunteers to join the Centre For Multicultural Youth (CMY)’s Settle Smart program.

The program involves Peer Educators working together to develop content and  go out to schools to deliver information sessions on Education Pathways, Mental Health, Racism and Discrimination, Sports, Employment Rights and Volunteering.

Peer Educators will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive training that will develop leadership, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Build their confidence
  • Meet other like-minded young people and make new friends
  • Deepen their understanding and awareness of the issues facing newly arrived young people
  • Get a sense of empowerment and contribution to the community

Selected peer educators will need to be available for training on 21st and 22nd September.
