Be a voice… be a young leader
Young people aspiring to make a difference in the City of Greater Dandenong community are encouraged to apply for the Young Leaders Program.
The program provides a unique opportunity for young people to increase their participation in the local community, learn leadership skills and to meet and work with like-minded individuals.
Now in its ninth year, the program is designed to help young people become effective leaders in their own community and how to work as a team to develop and deliver community projects.
Throughout the program, participants focus on learning and developing their leadership skills across a wide range of topics including goal setting, communication, public speaking, advocacy, project planning and development.
The 2017 Young Leaders program will run every Tuesday starting 2 May 2017 from 4.30pm - 6.30pm. The last session will be held on 19 September 2017, after which the Young Leaders, along with their family and friends, will be invited to attend a celebration ceremony to be hosted by the City of Greater Dandenong Council's Youth and Family Services in December.
If you know a young person who lives in the City of Greater Dandenong who wants to get more involved in their community and improve their leadership skills, encourage them to apply.
Applications close on Friday 31 March 2017.
