New translated resources on country of origin food labels
New Australian Government rules from 1 July 2018 will see businesses selling food in Australian retail stores apply easy to understand labels that indicate where food was grown, produced, made or packed, and what percentage of ingredients are from Australia.
The changes to country of origin labelling (CoOL) for food will make it clearer for Australians to understand where their food comes from in order to make more informed purchases.
To help Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds better understand these changes, a number of resources including food label examples, fact sheets and animated information videos have been translated into Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Filipino, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese.
Access the new resources at the Australian Government’s industry website.
