Health services board positions available for culturally diverse Victorians

A range of Victorian hospitals and health services are seeking applications from people from diverse backgrounds to sit on boards.

Austin Health, Monash Health, Ambulance Victoria, Forensicare and a range of rural and regional services are among those currently seeking new board members.

As an active member of your community or a professional with specialist expertise, board membership provides an opportunity to help shape the way health services care for patients – including those from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Health services CEOs and executive teams manage day-to-day operations, while board members – who often have other full time occupations – play a critical role working alongside CEOs to set the “big picture”.

Board membership is also a great way to develop your career and leadership skills, with support and training made available by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

Applications are open until 6 November 2017 for terms starting on 1 July 2018.

Find out more and submit your application at getonboard.vic.gov.au or seek assistance with an application by contacting the Victorian Health Service Governance team on board.appointments@dhhs.vic.gov.au
