Mapping the African diaspora survey

Victorians of African heritage are invited to participate in a new survey that aims to understand the experiences and perspectives of African Diaspora in Australia.

Swinburne University’s Centre for Social Impact is undertaking an exploratory study to understand what ‘diaspora’ means to people of African descent who live in Australia, the role African Australians play in navigating between multiple cultures, their contributions to enriching social, cultural, political and economic life in Australia and their scope to contribute to the prosperity of all Australians.

Findings from the study are expected to present a picture of the African Diaspora in Australia and create a platform for further research, public policy discussion and public debate.

The Mapping the African Diaspora in Australia project is funded by the Scanlon Foundation.
